This is an opportunity to gain a practical insight into the solar power/photo voltaic installation industry. The Business installs solar power panels for both domestic and commercial clients, installing the panels on warehouse and domestic roofs. The position will work in support of tradespeople on the road and provide warehouse support.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Specific tasks and responsibilities will vary depending on the student’s level of competency and readiness and will always be performed under supervision in line with safety requirements.
1. Solar Panel Installation Support
• Assist in setting up solar panel installation
• Carry and organize tools and equipment on-site
2. Electrical Work Assistance
• Observe and assist with basic wiring of inverters, switches, and isolators, (does not involve the trainee doing actual wiring work).
• Use basic tools and equipment
4. Workshop & Warehouse Support
• Prepare and pack materials for installations
• Label and organize stock and components
5. Safety Participation
• Join toolbox meetings and daily safety briefings
• Learn to identify and manage potential electrical hazards
6. Job Documentation
• Assist with data entry and documentation of job details
• Learn to use basic digital tools for job tracking
7. Team Shadowing & Customer Interaction
• Observe professional communication with clients
It's important for work placement students to ask questions, seek guidance, and follow instructions from their supervisors to ensure they are performing their duties safely and effectively.

Student Requirements

Students must have white card.

Dress Requirements

The student must wear protective clothing, safety footwear (steel cap boots), hat and sunscreen.

Special Transport Requirements

The student would be required to make their own way to the work site.
