This placement is with a quality automotive service centre in Maribyrnong. It will provide students the opportunity to gain ground level experience and observe all aspects of automotive repairs. Each day will provide different opportunities depending on the workload, though most days will commence with general tidying of the workshop.

Safe work practices, communication and team work along with an understanding of time management and general vehicle serving tasks.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The student will undertake general cleaning duties, car washing and have the opportunity to observe and assist (if appropriate) in the general service and repair of vehicles. If the student shows initiative and demonstrates the ability to follow instructions, they may be given more responsibilities.

Student Requirements

The student must be able to follow instructions and be prepared to undertake basic cleaning and tidying duties along with some car washing.

Dress Requirements

Work boots and neat work clothes.

Special Transport Requirements

Accessible by public transport (bus stops nearby).
