Skills You Might Learn
Students may have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement. These may include valuable general employability skills such as:

And industry specific skills that may include:
· General animal care and handling
· Health and safety practices around animals
· Technical skills including how to use and maintain equipment
· Learning how professionals observe, analyse and diagnose animal ailments
Typical Tasks & Duties
While on placement, students may assist qualified staff with the following tasks and duties:
· Greeting clients and their owners
· Weighing animals on arrival
· Changing bedding and cages
· Providing feed and water
· Shadowing vet nurses
· Record keeping
Student Requirements
Students must have a genuine interest in working with animals and volunteering, must have good communication skills and be willing to follow instruction.
Dress Requirements
Student to wear closed shoes and long pants and sensible clothing. No logos or branded clothing. Long hair to be tied back and no excessive/dangly jewellery.

Public transport is available.
