Skills You Might Learn

Students will use and maintain tools and equipment; apply safe work practices; participate in basic vehicle servicing; observe experienced mechanics; comply with OH&S procedures.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to spend time with experienced mechanics, focusing on manually assessing, diagnosing and restoring vehicles in order to build a strong set of technical skills. Duties include assist with disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of classic car component, oil change, remove wheels and safely operate equipment such hoists and power tools and keeping the workshop clean and tidy.

It's important for work placement students to ask questions, seek guidance, and follow instructions from their supervisors to ensure they are performing their duties safely and effectively.

Student Requirements

Students are expected to be on time and ready to work safely in a team.
No mobile phone during work hours.

Dress Requirements

The student must wear protective clothing, safety footwear.
