This is an ideal placement for a VCE VET student enrolled in a VET Information Technology subject to gain part time employment whilst studying a secondary school program.

Typical Tasks & Duties
As an SBAT IT Support Technician, you would assist in the day-to-day activities at the eManaged Mildura Office.
The SBAT will undertake the following tasks and duties;
• Develop and extend critical and creative thinking skills.
• Work in a team.
• Securely manage personally identifiable information and workplace information.
• Identify IP, ethics and privacy policies in ICT environments.
• Provide ICT advice to clients.
• Apply introductory programming techniques.
• Evaluate characteristics of cloud computing services and solutions.
• Create ICT user documentation.
• Install, figure and secure a small office and home office network.
• Create and style simple markup language documents.
• Use advance features of applications.
• Provide basic system administration.
Student Requirements
Students with a positive attitude towards Information Technology and Communications who are self-motivated, willing to listen and follow instruction are encouraged to consider a future SBAT placement to develop skills learned from their VET subject relating to Information Technology.

Whilst the student is attending the work placement they are expected to:
• Students must be interested in Information Technology and Communications as an SBAT and possess good communication skills.
• Students must be willing to spend periods of time observing and to undertake necessary tasks as requested.
• Dress appropriately.
• Maintain interest and participate in tasks and work duties.
• Be well mannered and behave in a respectful and responsible manner.
• Be punctual.
• Follow management instructions.
• Act in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
• Work within the team.
• Listen and take advice from fellow workers.
• Respect other people’s belongings.
• Demonstrate the skills they have developed through their course.
• Take their Logbook to the work placement every day.
SBAT EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING DETAILS:
The minimum number of employment and training hours is 13 hours per week
These hours may be averaged over three periods of four months in each year of the training contract. At least one day during the normal school week must be timetabled to be spent on the job or in training.
Dress Requirements
The student must be well presented, clean and hygienic at all times.
• Neat professional business attire is required.
• Flat, non-slip, enclosed work shoes.
• Please do not wear clothing which others may find offensive.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks and duties carried out by the student, will be supplied by the Host Employer.
Special Transport Requirements
Public Transport is limited, the SBAT is to check public transport availability and or speak to parents/carer to organise transport prior to contacting employer.
