Bricklayer
Craigie Brick and Block
Bricklayers build walls, partitions, steps, and other structures using bricks, blocks, and mortar. This hands-on role involves working outdoors on residential, commercial, or industrial construction sites. Students will observe and assist under supervision to gain an understanding of trade skills and site safety.

Assisting with mixing mortar and preparing materials

Understanding the importance of straight lines, levels, and spacing
Student Requirements
Basic physical fitness and stamina
Good listening and observation skills
Willingness to follow instructions
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
A keen interest in building and construction
Dress Requirements
Long pants and high-visibility shirt
Steel-capped boots (mandatory)
Sunhat and sunscreen (for outdoor work)
Rain gear if weather requires
Work gloves (recommended)
Special Transport Requirements
Students/families must arrange transport to the site
Worksites may vary, so check location in advance
Public transport may not be suitable depending on site location
Carpooling with employer may be possible if approved by the school and parents
