Typical Tasks & Duties
Assisting with preparing vehicle surfaces (sanding, masking, cleaning)
Observing paint mixing and application techniques
Washing vehicles before and after work
Assisting with minor panel repairs under supervision
Helping maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
Delivering tools and materials to tradespeople
Learning about estimating and quoting damage repair
Student Requirements
School permission and signed work experience agreement
Parent/guardian consent
Completed Safe@Work General and Automotive modules
Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
Interest in automotive repair and refinishing
Dress Requirements
Steel-capped boots
Long work pants (e.g. cotton drill)
High-vis shirt or overalls
Safety glasses (provided by the host or student)
Hair tied back (if applicable)
Special Transport Requirements
Student and family responsible for transport arrangements
Public transport or drop-off may be required depending on location
