Located in Dandenong North, this Aged Care Facility provides a beautifully balanced lifestyle for its residents, offering a very warm, welcoming, caring and friendly environment. You will be supervised by experienced staff and given the opportunity to perform a wide variety of tasks, building on your skills that can be used to future your knowledge in the allied health industry. Students must be willing to participate and engage with residents and activities, assisting the lifestyle coordinator to improve the quality of life for residents. Block placement of one or two weeks are available.

Working well as part of a team, ability to communicate well with people of all different abilities and backgrounds, understanding the requirements of aged care assistance. Work safely in the industry. Policy & procedures in the allied health industry.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Under the supervision of qualified staff, students you will assist in the care of the residents helping with their daily activities. Students will have the opportunity to engage in the many activities organised by the lifestyle coordinator such as group exercise, craft games, special event days, story telling and much more! An opportunity may also be available to assist the Physiotherapist in their work with residents.

Student Requirements

Punctuality and an ability to communicate and relate well to an ageing and diverse group of residents is a must. ***This employer is a not-for- profit so is exempt from payment

Smart casual dress with closed toe shoes.
