Skills You Might Learn

Students would learn:

- Learn indigenous plants by weeding, pruning, planting
- Learn to apply safe handling and use of small plant and power tools, under supervision.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the business. This placement will provide you with a range of opportunities to develop your skills while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

During your placement, you may undertake some of the following:
- Assist with various tasks related to managing constructed and remnant bushland
- Use hand & garden tools
- Undertake weeding, pruning, planting
- Under supervision, apply safe handling and use of small plant and power tools.
- Observe OH&S procedures on site
- Clean site equipment under supervision
- Stack, store and inventory of materials
- Perform general tidying.

Student Requirements

Students would be expected to:
- undertake practical hands on work
- be willing to work in a team and also independently
- to meet employer specific requirements, including providing a resume, travel form, or willing to attend an OH&S induction prior to commencing a placement

Dress Requirements

Steel capped boots must be worn and supplied by the students. Sun smart clothing, including hat, long pants, and long shirt. For any work specific dress requirements, such as protective clothing, gloves, and other, please discuss with Naturelinks Peninsula.

Special Transport Requirements

The student would be required to make their own way to the work site, which is close to public transport. Please refer to https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au/.
