Gaining industry experience at Imagine Re-Evolution in Eltham can be an excellent pathway for a young person aspiring to become a youth worker. The not-for-profit business is dedicated to empowering young individuals from 12 to 25 years of age through education, community engagement, sustainability, and skill development programs. Students will learn how to provide strength-based support, collaborate with educators, community leaders, and other volunteers. This is an excellent pathway for gaining hands-on experience while building a sense of community.

Imagine Re-Evolution may help students develop the following skills:
1. Youth Program Support: Help supervise activities under the guidance of mentors and assist with setting up and packing down youth-focused workshops (e.g., "Trade Skills for Teens")
2. Administrative Support: Data entry or basic record-keeping tasks and help prepare materials and resources for events or programs (printing, organizing supplies).
3. Creative Contributions: Participate in brainstorming or feedback session, assist with social media content (e.g., taking photos, writing short posts) or help design posters/ flyers for programs using Canva.
4. Community Engagement: Meet and greet and community members at events and contribute to donation drives or other impactful Initiatives.
5. Team Collaboration
Attend team meetings and learn how programs are planned
Shadow staff and ask questions about career pathways in youth work
Reflect on daily activities in a work experience journal or logbook
Typical Tasks & Duties
At Imagine Re-Evolution, the student placement will involve a deeper understanding about youth groups, youth organisations, schools, colleges, council-run groups and community centers. The student will typically work with staff and support them with day-to-day tasks such and Business Administration, Marketing as well as educational and recreational activities for young people.
Student Requirements
Ideally suited to students interested and already studying certificated related in Community Service / Youth Worker career pathways.
Dress Requirements
Casual, weather appropriate clothing. Wearing enclosed shoes is essential (no slip on, flip flop or thong style shoes). Please always wear enclosed shoes.
