Work experience with a plumber provides students with practical insight into the plumbing trade. Typical Tasks & Duties
Shadowing plumbers on-site during installations and repairs

Observing how to read plans, diagrams, and specifications
Learning about different pipes, fittings, and fixtures
Helping with measuring, cutting, and preparing materials (under supervision)
Cleaning up work areas and maintaining tools
Watching how problems are diagnosed and solutions are implemented
Student Requirements
Interest in hands-on, practical work

Basic understanding of mathematics and measurements
Completion of required school work experience documentation
Awareness of workplace health and safety requirements
Dress Requirements
Work boots with steel caps (compulsory for safety)
