Skills You Might Learn
Students will gain skills in computer design, reading and interpreting drawings and plans, understanding product development which includes stages such as design, manufacture, test and final product. Working on a range of machines.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students successful in securing this placement will work in the workshop on mechanical assemblies. They will be following instructions from the trademan and gaining on-the-job training for specific tasks.
Students will also need to understand the importance of, and undertake cleaning duties along side the rest of the team.
Student Requirements
Students are required to be studying a certificate 2 or 3 in Engineering.
The right candidate will also have an interest in automation, engineering, design or programming.
The student will also need to be very independent and capable of arriving on-time. As well as this the student must submit a formal written application and resume then attend an interview.
Dress Requirements
Long sleeve top, long cotton pants and safety boots are to be worn. Everything else will be provided.
No jewellry.
Special Transport Requirements
Student is required to travel to and from the company independently.
