Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to spend time with experienced professional staff, assisting in the following example task and duties under supervision:

• Assisting trainers with setting up and packing away equipment for classes and personal training sessions
• Greeting members and providing friendly customer service
• Supporting clients with safe use of equipment under supervision
• Helping maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the gym environment
• Observing fitness assessments and training sessions
• Assisting in basic admin or reception duties (e.g. bookings, class schedules)
• Participating in team discussions around programming and client support

It's important for work placement students to ask questions, seek guidance, and follow instructions from their supervisors to ensure they are performing their duties safely and effectively.

Positive, friendly attitude and a strong passion for the fitness, sports and recreation industry

Dress Requirements

Suitable attire for a gym environment (activewear, enclosed runners)

Special Transport Requirements

The student would be required to make their own way to the work site.
