Typical Tasks & Duties
Assisting educators with daily routines such as meal times, rest times, and outdoor play. Preparing and tidying play and learning areas. Supporting small group activities (e.g. reading, puzzles, arts and crafts).Observing children’s behavior and development under supervision .Helping set up learning resources. Encouraging safe, positive play and interactions.
Student Requirements
Completion of work experience agreement form (signed by student, parent/guardian, school, and host organisation).
Parental/guardian consent.
A genuine interest in working with children.
Vaccinations and Working with Children Check (if required by placement site).
Safe@Work module completed prior to commencement.
Dress Requirements
Neat, casual clothing suitable for active work (no short skirts, ripped jeans, or offensive prints).
Comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor play.
Hair tied back neatly; minimal jewellery.
Bring a hat for sun safety when outdoors.
Special Transport Requirements
Centres may be accessible via public transport (bus/train depending on location).
Students to plan travel in advance to ensure punctuality.
If travelling by car, allow time for parking.
