Typical Tasks & Duties

Typically a work day could involve propagation, planting, weeding, bed prep, trellising/training, harvesting and seed saving. We are production focused but there is also a strong ornamental/aesthetic quality to the work and would suit someone interested in learning about growing vegetables/cut flowers but would also give them some horticultural maintenance skills. The work is very diverse and season-dependent.

Student Requirements

Students are to have a genuine interest in agriculture or horticulture and be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Students are to adhere to the employers OHS procedures and COVID Safe practices. Students on placement are required to be fully
COVID-19 vaccinated. This is a mandated requirement for the essential workers in agriculture (including viticulture).

Dress Requirements

Appropriate work uniform and footwear will be required for this placement, please check with the employer PRIOR to the placement commencement about what you are to wear.

Special Transport Requirements

Students are to arrange own transport to and from the employer.
