Employer is looking for a full time apprentice and happy to give a keen student the opportunity for placement. An apprenticeship in Building provides hands-on training in residential and commercial construction, allowing students to develop practical trade skills while working alongside qualified builders. This opportunity introduces students to real-world building environments, materials, and industry standards.
Skills You Might Learn
Practical construction skills, safe tool handling, measurement accuracy, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, time management, understanding of building processes and regulatory requirements, and improved physical capability.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Assisting tradespeople with basic construction tasks, measuring and cutting materials, site preparation and clean-up, using hand and power tools under supervision, helping with framing, concreting, and installation tasks, maintaining a tidy and safe work area, and following instructions from supervisors.
Student Requirements
Willingness to learn, ability to follow instructions, good attitude, reliability, basic numeracy, ability to work in outdoor and physical environments, and completion of any required consent forms.
Dress Requirements
Steel-cap boots, high-visibility shirt or vest, long work pants, weather-appropriate clothing, PPE as required (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hard hat), and no loose jewellery or unsafe accessories.
Special Transport Requirements
Students must confirm transport options before placement; A license and car would be an advantage however there could also be the option of car pooling with the employer or other workers if you live in Kilmore or Wallan area. Most work is in the Northern Suburbs' travel with employer form will be needed to be completed if travelling with employer.
