Placement Details:
- Duration: 5 days
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily
- Location: Grampians Health – Stawell

This program offers students hands-on exposure to a range of non-clinical healthcare roles, providing insight into essential operational areas that keep our organisation running smoothly.

Areas of Experience:
- Theatre (Surgical Services)
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Urgent Care
- Podiatry
- Speech Pathology
- Diabetes Care
- Radiology

Students will observe and interact with healthcare professionals, gaining insight into the many roles and responsibilities within the healthcare sector.

Typical Tasks & Duties

During the placement, students may participate in a variety of hands-on tasks, including:

- Healthcare Documentation: Learn accurate patient record-keeping.
- Radiology Observation: Watch imaging procedures like X-rays.
- Shadowing Professionals: Observe patient care and treatment delivery.
- Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling and filing.
- Medical Terminology: Gain knowledge of key health terms and anatomy.
- Patient Interaction (Supervised): Help with basic tasks under guidance.
- Hands-on Support: Prepare equipment or treatment rooms (if applicable).

Student Requirements

- Interest in a healthcare career
- Preference for students studying related subjects or showing strong interest

Dress Requirements

Smart, neat attire (short-sleeved polo, enclosed shoes, no jewellery)
Preferred: School uniform polo
Unacceptable: Clothing with non-school logos or inappropriate designs

Special Transport Requirements

Students (or parents/guardians for under 18s) are responsible for transport to and from the workplace.
