Alkane Resources Costerfield offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience in the electrical trade within a modern underground mining operation. Students will work alongside qualified electricians, gaining exposure to the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment used across the mine and processing plant. Tasks will vary depending on business requirements and the student's capabilities.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Tasks allocated will vary depending on the student's capabilities. Students may:
- Observe electrical maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist with preparing tools and materials.
- Support routine inspections of electrical equipment.
- Assist with cable installation and equipment setup under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
Student Requirements
Students should:
- Have a genuine interest in the electrical trade.
- Be willing to learn and follow instructions.
- Display a positive attitude and good communication skills.
- Be reliable, punctual and respectful.
Dress Requirements
Long sleeve shirt, long work pants and steel-capped safety boots are required. Additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided where required.
Special Transport Requirements
Students are responsible for arranging transport to and from the Costerfield mine site. Private transport is recommended due to the site's location.
