The company provides scaffolding systems designed to provide safe access and working platforms throughout construction projects, including practical access solutions such as temporary staircases, ladder access and other systems designed to improve accessibility on construction sites.

Skills You Might Learn

Students are expected to learn the following from their placement:

- gain a mix of practical engineering principles, hands-on construction skills and rigorous safety management. This includes learning how to calculate load-bearing capacities, weight distribution, wind forces, and structural stability; reading interpreting, and sometimes creating 3D scaffolding blueprints using CAD or BIM software; navigating strict occupational health & safety laws, work-at-height regulations and industry compliance codes; learning how to identify site hazards; understanding the physics and proper use of harnesses, anchor points, netting & edge protection
- handling materials such as unloading, sorting, and carrying scaffold parts like pipes, clamps, and planks
- how to erect, alter, and dismantle structures
- keeping the work area clean, organised, and free of tripping hazards.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The students would assist with:
- erecting and dismantling temporary platforms
- fitting guardrails, toe boards, mesh, and secure access ladders to prevent falls from heights
- checking all scaffolding materials for cracks, rust, or structural damage before and during assembly
- ensuring structures meet Australian standards
- taking reasonable care for personal and workplace safety, reporting hazards immediately, and cooperating with site safety policies.

Student Requirements

Students are expected to show up reliably, follow strict safety rules, and do heavy physical labor while on placement. Students must also be willing to learn; communicate clearly and working well with other workers to lift, pass, and assemble temporary structures.

Dress Requirements

Students must wear protective clothing, safety footwear (steel cap boots), hat and sunscreen.

Special Transport Requirements

It will be the student's responsibility to meet the employer on site.
