This is a great opportunity for a student to gain and SWL placement in horticulture/agriculture assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of an outdoor recreation facility/camp in Marysville. The successful student will gain a vast range of experience and have the unique opportunity to work in and outdoor recreation industry.

Skills You Might Learn

Students undertaking the placement would typically acquire the following skills:
- manual handling practices
- teamwork
- maintaining plants and shrubs
- cultivating plants
- follow & apply OHS procedures
- Develop effective relationships with internal and external staff and contractors to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
- Ensure resources are organised, allocated, used and monitored effectively

Typical Tasks & Duties

The primary function of this position is to provide maintenance to the buildings, grounds and equipment on site by conducting and / or coordinating necessary ongoing maintenance and repairs. The position also involves the safe operation and use of tools and machinery and chemicals required to complete the task.

Student Requirements

Students should have an interest in horticulture, agriculture and or grounds and maintenance and a willingness to learn.

Dress Requirements

Students will be required to wear enclosed shoes for the duration of their placement, work gear or casual outdoor clothing will be suitable.
