Plant Operator Assistant

In this placement students will have the chance of experience in the water utility field. They will be observing and learning from qualified and experienced professionals. Students will be operating in one of several areas at Lower Murray Water.This is a great opportunity for students enthusiastic about any of these aspects. Skills You Might Learn
Students will learn workplace communication in real life scenarios. They will also assist with specific tasks related to the specific learning opportunity that they have undertaken. Skills developed will be around office administration, drafting, stores management and customer service.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Tasks will be around assisting other employees in their roles and the student will be expected to be an active participant in all workplace practices. They will work as part of a team while under regular supervision. Tasks will be in the office as well as in the field with the focus being the water treatment plants operations.
Student Requirements
The students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.
Dress Requirements
Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place plus sturdy work boots possibly.
Special Transport Requirements
Students may need to organise their own transport to work but there is a bus service in Swan Hill.
