Undertaking an SWL placement will see you work alongside experienced mechanics to gain a range of experience that will complement your studies or strong interest in automotive work.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will use and maintain tools and equipment; apply safe work practices; participate in basic vehicle servicing; observe experienced mechanics; comply with OH&S procedures. Students will have the opportunity to observe and assist in servicing of vehicles and mechanical repairs in this workshop.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will undertake duties in the workshop under supervision of qualified mechanics and experience the technology and procedures involved in troubleshooting mechanical issues. Students will experience, under supervision, servicing and maintenance on a variety of makes and models of vehicles.
Student Requirements
Students are expected to be punctual and ready to learn. This opportunity is intended for a student with a genuine interest in the automotive industry.
Dress Requirements
Student to wear suitable clothing for working on cars and other mechanical equipment.
