Scotty's Truck and Trailer.

Scotty is building his business. He has a large, busy workshop and predominantly works on large trucks. Scotty is keen to give students who are keen an opportunity as he was given an opportunity when he was quite young and wanting to work. He is a sole trader. Students will certainly be (dirty) hands on at this placement.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will use safe work practices and observe OH&S procedures as a matter of course. Use of hand tools under supervision will be a focus.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Duties at Scotty's will include workshop maintenance and assisting with general disassembly and rebuild tasks. Students will be supervised to enable them to use hand tools while assisting with general mechanical tasks.

Student Requirements

The student must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual dress suited to a work place is needed plus sturdy work boots.

Special Transport Requirements

There is no public transport to Karinie street so students must make their own way to work.
