This placement is in a busy four wheel drive work shop and retail outlet. The premises is modern and well laid out with a large range of outback travel parts and equipment for sale. The management are very supportive of students and the SWL program.
Skills You Might Learn
This placement will offer students the chance to attain a broad range of skills. They will hands-on practical experience, while working in a real life scenario.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will work with other employees to assist them in their roles. Students will need to be an active participant in all workshop practices. Under supervision, students may work with tools and equipment that are necessary to the occupation.
Student Requirements
The students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.
Dress Requirements
Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place plus sturdy work boots.
Special Transport Requirements
Students may need to organise their own transport to work but there is a town bus service.
