Koto Hair are a high-end boutique salon in Glen Iris, happy to host students studying a Certificate in Hairdressing. A typical day with Koto Hair can include a range of tasks, including: shampooing hair, keeping the salon clean and tidy, and greeting customers. Koto Hair are closed on Mondays. Placements are available Tuesday - Friday for either one day per week or a weekly block throughout the school year.

This placement aligns with Certificate II in Salon Assistant through the following
Units of Competency:

SHBHIND001 Maintain and organise tools, equipment and work areas
SHBXCCS003 Greet and prepare clients for salon services
SHBHBAS001 Provide shampoo and basin services

Typical Tasks & Duties

Shampoo hair, keeping salon clean and tidy, making tea/coffee for customers, general housekeeping, greeting customers, preparing equipment for qualified hairdressers and assisting other staff members as required.

Student Requirements

Students must be keen to pursue an apprenticeship in hairdressing, have creative flair, be open to learn, and have a passionate and energetic personality.

Dress Requirements

Closed toe shoes. Neat & tidy appearance. Rest to be discussed at meet and greet

Special Transport Requirements

Close to public transport.
