Skills You Might Learn

Placement students will attain skills in alignment with their VET Certificate, including developing positive and respectful relationships with children, assisting with health and safety of children, interacting positively with infants, toddlers and parents, participating in workplace health and safety, and promoting healthy food and drinks, etc. Students will have the opportunity to gain experience with all pre-school age groups, from 6 weeks to 5 years, as well as improving their industry awareness.
Transferable skills attained include teamwork, communication, problem solving, and time management.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Assist staff to set up and pack up activities for education and play, learn about hygiene, feeding and rest requirements, observe behaviour patterns in children at various ages and stages in their development.

Student Requirements

Suitable for students undertaking Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Formal interview is not required, however student arrange a per-placement meeting to sign the Arrangement Form and finalise any arrangements.

Goodstart Management have advised the BNLLEN that it is mandatory for all staff to be triple vaccinated. Note this will also apply to any interested SWL students.

Dress Requirements

Discreet jewellery, long hair tied back, closed toe shoes, dress suited to working with children, to be discussed at interview.

Special Transport Requirements

No travel form required for this placement. Venue is close to bus and tram access.
