A great opportunity to work with a local mechanic and learn the many aspects of the Automotive Industry. You will be supervised by qualified mechanics and have the opportunity to perform many tasks related to the mechanical service, repair and diagnostic services including auto electrical.
Skills You Might Learn
Safe use of basic hand tools and basic power tools. Prepare and up keep a safe and clean work environment. Remove and replace suspension, front springs, recharge batteries, remove and refit batteries under supervision. Work as part of a team. Learning to apply OH&S principles.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Work safely in the industry, participate in basic vehicle servicing operations, use and maintain tools and equipment . You will be given opportunity to use power tools relevant to the task, change tyres, do oil changes, and a range of mechanical and automotive tasks.Keeping a cleaning workshop, problem solving and diagnostic inquiry will be part of the role.
Student Requirements
Students must be have a keen interest in the Automotive Industry, prepared to learn and value this opportunity. Appropriate work clothes must be worn and it is important to be punctuality and respect the work environment. If you are willing to learn you will be given a lot of opportunity to gain practical and hands on skills.Please check with employer regarding any COVID safe practices and immunisation requirements before starting placement.
Dress Requirements
Safety work boot required, hair up or netted. No lose clothing or belt buckles.
Special Transport Requirements
The workshop is 2 km. from Kooweerup train station - employer is prepared to pick up
