Skills You Might Learn

It will give you the skills and knowledge required to become a support worker in various educational settings. You will learn how to support students with literacy and numeracy skills and cater for the different learning styles. Learn to work within a small team and follow safe work practices.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Possible student tasks and duties may include: -classroom observation -working with small groups of students with a focus on a particular topic -supporting children with a range of needs in the classroom -mentoring students -preparing activities - participating in yard duty -assisting with various admin tasks -connecting with and developing meaningful relationships with students, families and staff -opportunities to engage with students with additional needs.

Student Requirements

This placement best suits students interested in working in a Primary School setting. A warm, friendly, motivated personality and a strong desire to engage with children and actively work in the education industry are preferred. Students must be timely, understand that mobile phones cannot be used at any stage whilst working and must adhere to all employer expectations outlined during the interview.
