Skills You Might Learn

Interpersonal skills, product knowledge, product placement, stocktaking, pricing and excellent customer service. Also point of sale and cash handling. Ordering of items required for food parcels. Work and life skills eg, time management, communication and personal development skills.

Typical Tasks & Duties

This placement will offer students the chance to attain a broad range of retail skills, including sorting donated clothing and bric-a-brac, serving customers, stock preparation, pricing and tagging, assist and support staff to replenish stock as required. Some dusting and vacuuming of workspace is required.
Students will also have the opportunity to prepare food parcels.

Student Requirements

Students will need to have an interest across both retail and community services. You will need to be adaptable and show Initiative, ready to serve a variety of customers. You will need to a have a welcoming personality but also be assertive when necessary.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual with closed toe shoes for safety.

Special Transport Requirements

Accessible via public transport. CoCO's is situated opposite bus stops servicing Dandenong Plaza shopping centre.
