Students may be asked to do complete at least one evening shift to see what working in a restaurant is really like.This is a good company that looks after its young workers.

Skills You Might Learn

Hospitality students will be able to develop a range of communication skills such as customer service: listening and repeating orders in a friendly manner. Other skills include working as part of a team and following instructions in a timely manner.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Hospitality students will be involved in a variety of relevant front of house activities. Students may find themselves welcoming guests and seating them. They will be involved in setting up tables for the day and clearing dishes before the next customers arrive. Students will also be able to take orders and carrying plates to the tables are required.

Student Requirements

For safety reasons students will need to disclose if they have severe food allergies. Students should also wear comfortable closed in shoes.

Dress Requirements

SWL students will need to wear black or blue jeans and a white T-shirt. Closed-toe lace up comfortable shoes are a must. Long hair will need to be tied back.

Special Transport Requirements

Switch is very close to public transport: Bus stops and Watergardens Station are just a few minutes walk from the restaurant. However, it is advisable that the student be picked up if they have completed an evening work placement.
