Two placement opportunities are available for students interested to learn the art of concreting. The Procrete Group is servicing commercial, industrial and residential clients. They are involved in all aspects of concreting. Cenk provides professional and reliable work, he is efficient and his work is of the highest standard.

Skills You Might Learn

The students will learn skills in placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete in construction projects. As a potential concrete finisher the students may also assist with setting the concrete forms, ensuring they have the correct depth and pitch. They will observe Cenk smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters, patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints. In a normal day, they will monitor how the wind, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The students will be required to assist with site preparation, placing formwork, steel fixing, concrete placing and finishing. They will also assist in the erection of cladding and fit out of new buildings as well as assisting in general maintenance of equipment. On a daily basis, Cenk checks the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed. Sets the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them.

Student Requirements

The student must be willing to learn and develop new skills. Must be honest, enthusiastic, hard working and reliable.

Dress Requirements

Steel capped boots and appropriate attire for working in a construction site

Special Transport Requirements

The employer is happy to offer a lift from an agreed meeting point, if the students live close to Greenvale, and can be dropped off in Greenvale or at a train station. Alternatively, the students will be meeting the employer on site or may arrange to meet employer at an agreed location.
