Picture Perfect Developments is a building company offering a placement to an enthusiastic student interested to pursue a career in Building and Construction. You will be working with qualified tradespeople, and will gain valuable, practical, real-world experience in the workplace. The student will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the business. This placement will provide you with a range of opportunities to develop your skills while working alongside experienced industry tradespeople. This placement may also be suitable for students studying carpentry.

Skills You Might Learn

Industry specific skills may include measurement and calculations, storing and handling assorted materials, using a variety of tools and equipment to meet specific task requirements. Transferrable skills include communication, time management, following instruction, using technology, problem solving, demonstrating initiative, etc.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The successful applicant will start off with the basics, gaining a solid understanding of Workplace Health and Safety, Risk Management, Equipment Maintenance, etc. As your skills and competencies develop, you will be given the opportunity to participate in more complex tasks, with greater responsibility. These tasks will vary depending on the workplace activities at the time.

Student Requirements

The student needs to be able to cope with the physical demands of the job, able to lift heavy objects and enjoy practical and outdoor work. The student will be required to work builders hour's.

Dress Requirements

Work boots, long pants and long sleeved tops of sturdy material, suitable for a construction site.

Special Transport Requirements

The employer is happy to offer a lift to the worksite if the student lives in Sunbury and they can meet from an agreed meeting point. Otherwise, the student would be required to make their own way to the work site. The employer would let the student know where the work site would be.
