Skills You Might Learn

Your work experience placement may give you experience in the following areas:
Commercial Window Glazing, Curtainwalls, Spider Fittings, Glass Facades;
Measure and cut, fit and install glass into window frames;
Glass & Aluminium Shopfronts;
Trained to use specialist glazing plant and equipment;
Trained - hands-on learning, skills and training
Good spatial skills
Good attention to detail

Typical Tasks & Duties

Your tasks while doing the work experience placement will be as follows but you will be doing much more depending on the houseboat you will be working on at the time.
laying ply floor
constructing flybridge from ply
installing roof fascia
installing cladding and putting in windows
putting up stud walls and hanging doors
Reading Drawings
Moving Materials
Measuring, cutting, fixing, cutting off
Housekeeping
Window Glazing
