Orchard End Farm is a 125-acre family farming enterprise managed by Tony and Sue, dedicated to sustainable and organic farming practices. Located in Bayles in the West Gippsland district of Victoria, the farm is renowned for producing certified organic blueberries, garlic, and a variety of other fruits and vegetables. They also raise a herd of Limousin beef cows, known for their ethical and grass-fed upbringing.
Orchard End Farm is proud to be certified organic through NASAA – The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia. Their dedication to regenerative farming practices has led them to allocate 12 acres of the farm to preserving local wildlife habitats and native flora. Each year, they actively participate in tree planting initiatives, aiming to plant 500 trees annually with the support of local Scout groups, CWA, and other community organizations.

Typical Tasks & Duties

·Learn about the cultivation and care of organic blueberries, garlic, and other fruits and vegetables.
·Experience in the ethical raising and care of Limousin beef cows.
·Participate in regenerative farming practices and contribute to the annual tree planting day.
·Assist with general farm maintenance tasks and learn about the daily operations required to keep the farm running smoothly.

Student Requirements

·A genuine interest in sustainable and organic farming.
·Willingness to learn and participate in various farm activities.
·Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
·Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Dress Requirements

Solid footwear is mandatory; gum boots will be required during wet weather.
Long sleeve shirt is preferred and a broad brimmed hat is essential.

Special Transport Requirements

Students to arrange own transport.
