Commencing in 1987 this business was Australia’s first major manufacturer of industrial Vacuum and water jetting systems. They are recognised as a leader in the applications of vacuum loading and high pressure water jetting technologies, specialising in the design of mobile solutions for environmental and industrial cleaning, material handling, hydro excavation and drain and sewer cleaning.

Their units can vacuum and filter a large variety of products including alumina, brick, carbon, coke, dust, some explosive or ignitable products, fertilizer, fly ash, foundry sand, grain, lime, oxides, metal chips, mining over burden, mill scale, oil spills, ore pellets, petroleum or petrochemical products, rocks, shot, slurry mixtures, mining or mineral sands, sewage, silt or combinations of such.

Skills You Might Learn

Workplace Communication, teamwork, problem solving, reading drawings and plans, use of engineering technology, planning and organising, time management, interpersonal skills, working with steel, assisting trades people with lifting and shifting steel and related products, measuring and calculating, assist with welding, cutting and grinding.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to assist tradespeople who will be involved in various stages of metal fabrication and welding, which will include reading plans and drawing, preparing steel, cutting, welding, grinding and painting. Students will also assist in cleaning the workshop, unloading products, stacking steel and general duties as required.

Student Requirements

A keen interest in metal fabrication, welding, cutting, rolling, grinding.
Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on meal breaks.

Dress Requirements

Student to wear work wear appropriate for the engineering industry and safety boots.

Special Transport Requirements

Public Transport is available.
