Wood Street Childcare Centre is a small family owned centre which has been operating for 30 years. We have 58 children attend each day across 3 rooms; Nursery Room 0-2 years, Toddler Room 2-3 years & a Mixed Age Kinder Room 3-5 years which is run by 3 qualified Kinder Teachers. We have a stable workforce and value the opportunity to provide experience to students wanting to enter the Early Childhood Industry with the possibility of gaining employment at Wood Street either in the immediate or longer term.

Skills You Might Learn

Early Child Care skills and the ability to observe children and provide assistance and feedback. The ability to assist children with learning activities. Working within a team. Following safe work practices.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Interacting with children, changing nappies, assisting educator, and cleaning duties. Additional duties include: assisting in organizing and participating in recreational activities, such as games. Observing and monitoring children's play activities.

Student Requirements

An interest in working with children and the ability to interact with them. They should also be enthusiastic and willing to learn, punctual, reliable, positive attitude, pro-active, neat presentation, and have a polite manner.
