Caroline Springs Floorworld is a flooring retailer that specializes in carpets, timber, vinyl, laminate, and hybrid flooring, providing customers with high-quality products and expert advice. As part of work experience, a student may be involved in learning about the manufacturing processes of different flooring materials, understanding how they are sourced and produced. They may also observe and assist in aspects of flooring installation, including preparing surfaces, laying various types of flooring, and using basic tools for measuring and cutting. Hands-on tasks could involve moving and organizing stock, assisting with showroom displays, and gaining insight into the manual labor involved in the flooring trade. This experience offers a combination of retail knowledge, practical skills, and an introduction to the flooring installation process.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Assist in organizing and maintaining showroom displays
Learn about flooring materials and their manufacturing processes
Observe and assist in basic flooring installation, including surface preparation and laying different types of flooring
Use basic tools for measuring, cutting, and handling flooring materials
Help with stock management, including unpacking and organizing products
Shadow staff to understand customer service and sales processes
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workspace

Student Requirements

Students will be required to do some manual labour including lifting. Students should be enthusiastic to learn about the trade and committed to coming to their placement each week.

Must have own safety boots and high vis
