In 2025, Future Connect will collaborate with Gre8 and the National Foods Institute to deliver an SBAT (School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship) program that has already benefited hundreds of students (380 per year) in Melbourne’s outer southeastern suburbs and would suit students who may have considered Mambourin. Gre8 is a comprehensive organisation providing both school-based and post-school education and training. Their SBATs offer senior high school students a unique chance to gain hands-on workplace experience while receiving structured training from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Skills You Might Learn
Students will obtain a partial completion of the CERT II in Baking. Attending across Tuesdays and Thursdays, students will undergo a combination of Theory and practical work experience.

Student Requirements
The program is open to Australian citizens or permanent residents aged 15 and over, enrolled in Years 10, 11, or 12 in the VCE Vocational Major (VM) or Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC). Students will work two days per week as per SBAT guidelines, which typically include:
• 6 hours of training delivered by the RTO
• 7 hours of paid employment at the award rate
Exact schedules will be arranged in collaboration with the partnering schools.

Students are required to wear closed shoes and clean comfortable clothing
