This placement provides a hands-on opportunity for a student to support Brimbank City Council’s Careers Week (May 12–16). The student will be embedded within the Community Learning & Participation team at Brimbank Learning Futures and gain exposure to various event-based and community engagement activities across Brimbank.

The role is designed to give the young person experience in event coordination, community development, and communications, offering valuable insight into local government operations and community-focused initiatives. The student will report directly to a Brimbank Council staff member and will be supported throughout the placement.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student who:

Typical Tasks & Duties

• Assisting with event setup and pack down for Careers Week
• MCing event segments (if comfortable)
• Creating basic social media content
• Supporting customer service and engagement
• Helping with program evaluation and data collection
• Interacting with local Brimbank community members

Dress Requirements

Smart casual (neat, tidy, and appropriate for community-facing events)

Special Transport Requirements

Student may be transported in a Council vehicle during the placement (with prior school permission)- Student to complete work travel form

Most activities based at Visy Cares Hub, with one offsite day (Thursday)
