• natural sustainable landscapes gardens that include water features.
• retaining walls, irrigation systems, paving, artificial and instant lawn
• plant selection and placement, feature trees, lawn mowing, privacy screens, decking, fencing
• concreting: plain, coloured, and exposed.

Skills You Might Learn

The student will gain an understanding of working within the landscaping industry. Students can expect to attain skills in workplace safety, environmentally sustainable work practices, landscape construction, garden maintenance and recognition of plants, trees, soil types and pests.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The student will assist with landscaping areas, preparing them for garden beds, lawn installing synthetic turf or irrigation, building retaining walls, fencing, concreting, paving, moving soil, planting and all other activities related to landscaping.

Student Requirements

The student must have an interest in landscaping and have a willingness and capability to do general labouring duties. Students must be reliable, hardworking, prepared to ask questions and have a strong work ethic.

Dress Requirements

Work pants and steel capped boots. Warm jacket for cold days and hat and sunscreen for warmer months.

Special Transport Requirements

This employer is based in Craigieburn and is happy to offer a lift if the student can be dropped off at the Office in Craigieburn. If the student would like to make their own way to the work site, please refer to https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au
