This is a fantastic opportunity for a student looking to gain exposure to the running of a commercial kitchen in a rural hospital. Placements will be offered at one day per week. This employer historically has offered many nursing opportunities to university students and is now offering placements for secondary school students. Learning is in a supportive environment whilst giving you exposure to wide variety of tasks and services.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will extend their knowledge of the health industry, gain a greater understanding of the various roles and professions within a hospital, learn about Occupational Health and Safety protocols and apply their training in a practical setting.

Typical Tasks & Duties

A structured schedule of tasks and duties will be created for each placement and may vary depending on your units of study. Some examples of tasks you may undertake include serving meals and delivery, meal preparation and cooking, kitchen clean-up, menu organisation and maintaining safe hygiene practices.

Student Requirements

That the student has an interest in the field they wish to apply for.

Dress Requirements

To be determined, students will need to supply their own appropriate footwear.

Special Transport Requirements

Own transport to and from Kyneton District is required.
