Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd is an independent community based not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCHO) founded by a group of volunteers from the local indigenous community of the Victorian South West in 1979 Services include:
Bulk Billed General Practice & Primary Healthcare
Family Violence, Out of Home Care, Leaving Care, Men’s & Women’s Support & Cultural Planning
Home & Aged Care services, Housing, Youth Justice, Youth Group & Koori Pre School. This placement is for an indigenous student who would like to experience and gain knowledge as to the role Gunditjmara has in our community.The placement is in the business adminatration area and the opportunity to experience what other programs on offer at the Co-op.
Skills You Might Learn
The student will learn how to work in a team and also independently, the student will also learn how to use a computer to help with daily tasks.
Typical Tasks & Duties
As an administrative assistant the student will assist the qualified staff with file papers and documents, answer telephone calls, attend to visitors and assist other staff in the organisation, undertake duties such as banking and mail.
As all opportunities at the Gunditjmara can be rotated through their many different programs the student will need to be flexible and work well in a team environment.
