You will also gain an understanding of how to achieve maximum product yield and quality by the daily environmental control of the crop through cultural practices, hygiene procedures, and monitoring of pests and diseases.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Due to the expertise required for such a role this SWL position will commence as an observation and a watch and learn scenario. There are many tasks that are performed by a Grower which you will have a chance to gain skills in. This may include tasks such as:

-monitoring watering requirements
-check and maintain growing room equipment and facilities
-assist harvesting in the provision of daily and weekly crop estimates
-Report all hazards, incidents
-Participate in learning and development initiatives

Student Requirements

Costa Exchange is looking for a student who they may consider offering employment. The student therefore must be highly motivated and genuinely interested an excited about a career in Horticulture. Students must be relaible, able to attend the full 10 weeks and have a positive and friendly attitude.

Dress Requirements

Long pants and long shirt. Closed toe shoes.

Special Transport Requirements

A train is available in Mernda.
