This is an ADMIN SUPPORT placement at Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project. GSLP is committed to tackling disadvantage so all young people in Greater Shepparton can reach their full potential and thrive. GSLP supports this through a number of initiatives including; The Haven, a space for young people aged 12 - 25 to chill out and connect to mentors; The Family Haven, a space for families to access services, connect with other families and engage their kids in unstructured play groups; Pit Stop, a re-engagement program that sees students work on small engines under the guidance of industry professional volunteers, and; School engagement activities, there are multiple activities run in primary and secondary schools with the aim to engage and support students at lunch times.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will have the opportunity to build their administrative skills as well as develop your teamwork, organisational and communication skills along with general tasks connected to their VET studies or career interest area.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Working in a dynamic and vibrant team, students will gain exposure to various aspects of community services or business admin depending on their VET course or area of interest. Placement availability and tasks may also depend on the team's current projects. Students will be able to get hands-on experience using office equipment and software common to the industry, while assisting the team with youth-focused initiatives in an administrative capacity. Due to the private nature of case work, students will not work directly with participants.

The organisation welcomes students who have a positive attitude, can listen and take direction, are able to express themselves clearly, work consistently and can respect privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual clothes and clean, neatly groomed appearance.

Special Transport Requirements

GSLP is located in Kialla so public transport may be limited to some students. Students to arrange own transport.
