This placement will provide you with a great opportunity to learn the many aspects of working with the lifestyle coordinator to help organise and engage in a variety of activities. You will be supervised by experienced staff and given the opportunity to perform a wide variety of tasks building on your skills that can be used to secure your knowledge in the community services and allied health industry.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Under the supervision of qualified staff students you will assist in the care of the residents helping with their daily activities which may include working with the physiotherapist and allied health professionals. Students will have the opportunity to engage in the many activities organised by the lifestyle coordinator such as group exercise, bowling, table games, special event days such as fathers day, discussion groups,and much more! Some administration such as creating flyers, program planning and filing will be involved as well as some domestic duties such as delivering laundry as part of the day to day activity of caring for residents.

Punctuality and an ability to communicate and relate well to an ageing and diverse group of residents is a must. ** Please note - this is a not-for-profit employer therefore students will not receive payment.

Closed toed shoes, neat casual.
