Brilliant opportunity for students looking to develop their skills over the long term, with a one day per week placement. Ideally suited for students currently completing a Cert II or Cert III in Hairdressing.

Skills You Might Learn

Teamwork, communication, time management, customer service, using technology, problem solving.

Cert II - Increased industry knowledge, salon safety processes, maintaining and organising tools, equipment and work areas, retail and merchandising, basin services, drying, etc

Cert III – as above, along with haircut structures, colouring techniques, men’s haircuts, design and finishes for up-dos, etc.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will start with basic tasks including sweeping, tidying reception area, folding towels, maintaining work spaces (including various equipment), preparing foil sheets, etc. Reception tasks may include greeting clients, preparing drinks, answering phones and assisting with appointment records. Students may have the opportunity to assist with shampooing, drying, toning, and wrapping.

Student Requirements

Would suit student currently studying either a Cert II or Cert III in Hairdressing.
Interview required, as the host is seeking genuine and enthusiastic applicants to assist with training and developing their hairdressing skills.

Dress Requirements

Neat, clean and presentable, suitable for a hair and beauty salon in a customer facing role. (No jeans, no thongs.)

Special Transport Requirements

Close to bus and train.
