Ashburton Eyecare have been caring for eyes for 50 years. Optometrists are experts in eye health, trained to prescribe spectacles, contact lenses, and treat a range of eye conditions, such as dry eye, allergies and infections. Ashburton Eyecare provide a wide range of services including vision testing, prescription of glasses and/or contact lenses, assessment and reporting on fitness to drive and vision problems in children, such as strabismus and amblyopia. This Work Experience opportunity is a mixture of retail and optometry.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Students completing work experience at Ashburton Eyecare can expect to: shadow optometrist and retail staff, provide customer service, restock merchandise, attend meetings and client appointments where appropriate, and assist with administration tasks.
Student Requirements
Students should have an interest in optometry and customer service, be enthusiastic, patient, show empathy and compassion, as well as respect for others.
Dress Requirements
Smart casual, neat and tidy presentation. No hoodies or ripped jeans.
