TRINITY PRE-LOVED SHOP MANAGER

Trinity Pre-Loved Shop Manager is a volunteer position. The position requires a person of absolute integrity, attention to pastoral care and commitment. Whilst our shop exists to provide affordable clothing to those in need in our communities, promote recycling and to help eradicate waste, we also:

- Provide a platform for pastoral interactions and space.
- Help fund other local community led services that provide life giving, life enhancing and life supporting initiatives.
- Financially support the mission and vision of our church.

Trinity Pre-Loved Shop Manager will report to the Rector directly, supported by the wardens.

Typical Tasks & Duties

- Leading and motivating a team of volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment. This includes scheduling, task allocation, and providing training.
- Ensure smooth daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, managing stock levels (donations, sorting, pricing, and display), and maintaining a clean and organized shop.
- Providing excellent pastoral care, customer service, addressing customer inquiries and complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Managing the shop's budget, tracking sales and expenses, and identifying opportunities for growth including providing monthly report to the Parish Council.
- Implementing promotional activities, visual merchandising strategies, and other initiatives to attract customers and boost sales.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Fostering positive relationships with the local community and promoting the shop's charitable or community mission.

Student Requirements

Students are encouraged to consider a WE placement to develop skills learned from their school subject. The following requirements must be met;
- Preferably active membership of a church.
- An understanding of the vision and mission of our parish.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated good organizational skills including the ability to prioritise work tasks.
- Demonstrated skills in administration including record keeping and report writing.
- Team player and self-motivated.

Dress Requirements

Please discuss uniform requirements with the employer at the preplacement interview. Students will be expected to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the workplace, sturdy closed in toe and heal shoes are essential. Personal Protective Equipment will be supplied by the employer for tasks involving cleaning and maintenance activities.

Special Transport Requirements

The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) is responsible for the student’s transport to and from the workplace. If it is proposed that the student may need to undertake vehicle travel with their employer and/or supervisor during the arrangement (including transporting the student to and/or from the workplace), the employer must complete the Work Experience Travel and Accommodation Form. The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) must give their consent by also completing this form.
